1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

4. Stir in the BBQ sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper with the beef and onion mixture, and simmer for 2 more minutes.
5. Pour the beef mixture over the partially baked biscuits. Top with cheese
6. Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
7. Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Variations & Tips
For a bit of a zesty kick, consider adding chopped jalapeños or a dash of chili powder to the beef mixture. If you’re in the mood for a different protein, this recipe can also work wonderfully with ground turkey or pulled pork. For a healthier twist, try using whole wheat biscuits and a BBQ sauce with reduced sugar. Don’t hesitate to customize the cheeses; a mix of cheddar and Monterey Jack can offer a lovely depth of flavor.
